As expected, according to the concession in March this year, the oil company Hunt Oil will start to pump oil directly from the cultural region of Manu National Park, specifically from the Comunal reserve of Amarakaeri, where more than 10 native communities are living.
The Manu Biosphere Reserve has more than 1,900,000 hectares and is located in southwestern Peru.
As explained previously the explored and exploited area is a largely virgin forest, where human intervention cause an imbalance which means reducing the biodiversity of the area.
The hydrocarbon operations involve air and surface water pollution, threatening the survival of plants and animals. In addition, hydrocarbon operations involve the destruction of the forest opening the paths to drill the nearly 20,000-holes in the seismic phase.

Moreover, the most important thing for us humans, the area involved covers the headwaters of rivers that run all the RCAmarakaeri, such as the Blue River, the Rio Blanco and Rio Shilibe. The entire basin of this river is the source of water for all people living in the reserve. It is the source of water for all people that have always lived in the area. An operation of hydrocarbons in the area will mean a heavy pollution, and possibly a decrease in quantity of the only source of water that people have.
In its day we contacted a group of lawyers experts in cases involving the environment and experienced in solving them.
The main problem is the lack of current resources to meet the demands of lawyers in order to fight against the interests of the oil company.
We ask everybody to participate, to don't be few, to feel close, to persevere, to insist, is not the time to criticize or reproach us because we need all the energy to preserve our beloved place of work. Any contribution is welcome and above all very necessary.
We need the cooperation of every one of you not just as a company or institution, for each of the people who live, work, love and respect the Amazonia. We can only achieve our goal if we all put our best effort.
Imagine future generations following the work of eco-tourism in Manu, explaining to tourists that this forest remains only thanks to parents who were not overcome by outside pressures and who fought to preserve what is really important!
We need everyone's help to be able to save a piece of lung making possible to the earth keep breathing.
